As the seasons change, some of the smallest rituals in my day change with them. Autumn has its own small rituals, which gradually find their way back into my days.
Evening is usually when I turn to them. A mask left on while I read, hand cream before bed, something more nourishing for my lips as the air becomes colder. The colder air calls for a few simple changes — keeping hands softer, lips more nourished and skin better protected as the season shifts.
And although I am very much a coffee lover, autumn is the season when tea finds its way back into my afternoons. There is something about making a pot of fragrant tea and having it with a few biscuits that feels particularly right at this time of year. Coffee belongs to my mornings; tea and biscuits have become one of my favourite ways of slowing down later in the day.
These are the little rituals I find myself returning to as autumn settles in, along with a few things I have chosen for the season.
